This Friday evening, May 17, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., La Caille will host a special wine-pairing dinner to celebrate spring. I can't think of a prettier place to do that.
The evening will kick off with an artisanal cheese board and Zardetto Prosecco Bellini. After that, the menu and pairings are as follows:
Chilled duck confit with honey bacon almonds, Humboldt Fog cheese, dried cherries & micro arugula/Kris Pinot Grigio delle Venezie 2011
Smoked-scallop spring roll with micro basil, compressed English cucumber, baby carrots & mint verjus/Lamuri Nero D'Avola Tasca D'Almerita 2009
Sweet chile-infused blood orange intermezzo
Sous vide spring lamb sirloin with goat cheese polenta cake, asparagus, caramelized onions, roasted garlic truffle oil & natural jus/Castello di Bossi Chianti Classico C. Beradenga 2008.
Port wine-poached pear with cinnamon pots de creme, fresh berries & dark chocolate brittle/Grahams Six Grapes Port
The cost for dinner is $50 per person, plus an additional $45 for the (optional) wine pairings.
