Wine Wednesday: Wine Social @ Montage

This Saturday, Jan. 26, Montage Resort in Deer Valley will host its January wine social featuring the wines of Failla and Vine Cliff wineries, paired with a selection of appetizers by Montage Chef de Cuisine David Mullen.  

These Montage affairs are intimate and enjoyable, a chance to mingle with winemakers and other wine aficionados in an informal setting. For this wine social, vintners Ehren Jordan of Failla Wines and Rob Sweeney of Vine Cliff Winery will be in attendance, pouring their wines and discussing them. 

Rob Sweeney is one of the most interesting, knowledgeable winemakers I've ever met, and his big, bold Napa Cabernets and Chardonnays are simply wonderful.

Failla (pronounced FAY-la) is known primarily for excellent Sonoma Coast and Russian River Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, made by vintner Ehren Jordan, whose vita includes a stint as assistant winemaker to the great Helen Turley. 

Included on Chef Mullen's appetizer menu are scallops au poivre, elk sausage, roasted beets & brussels sprouts, grilled bavette steak, and sous vide pork belly. 

The cost for the wine social, which includes valet parking, food and wine, is $45 per person. The event takes place at Montage Resort's Apex Restaurant from 4 to 7 p.m., Jan. 26.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some Sundance celebs lurking about at the Montage that night.
