Epic @ Communal

Mark your social calendar for Monday, Sept. 24. That's when Provo's Communal Restaurant will host a four-course beer-pairing dinner featuring Epic Brewery beers. In attendance will be Epic brewmaster Kevin Crompton, who will debut Epic's new Fermentation Without Representation beer, an Imperial Pumpkin Porter.

The menu and beer pairings are:

Allred Orchard's pickled-peach salad with Shepherd Valley goat cheese and candied mustard, paired with Straight-Up Saison

Slow-braised Christiansen's pork belly with stout and brewer spices, paired with Cap'n Crompton's Pale Ale

Pan-roasted Bristol Bay scallops with Diamond Fork beef shank marmalade and La Nay Ferme squash puree, paired with Pfeifferhorn Lager

Valrona lava cake with spiced pumpkin ice cream and sesame-seed brittle, paired with Fermentation Without Representation Imperial Pumpkin Porter

The cost is $40 for dinner and $20 for the optional beer pairings. Reservations must be made by Monday, Sept. 17, by calling 801-652-0139 or emailing Chris@communalrestaurant.com.
