Company and Union Grill are partnering for the 5th annual "Union of the
Birds and Bees," a cheese, food and micro-brew pairing to benefit Utah's
first Ronald McDonald Family Room at Ogden Regional Medical Center. The event
will take place on Saturday, May 14th, 2011 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Grand Lobby
located at Ogden's Union Station
"Roosters Brewing Co., Beehive Cheese
Co. and Union Grill will bring together a unique synergy for an unforgettable
event," said Kym Buttschardt, owner of Roosters Brewing Company. "All
three organizations are very passionate about the community and we feel
fortunate that we could partner to assist the Ronald McDonald Family Room."
During the event, guests can sample
hand-crafted cheese from Beehive cheesemakers Tim Welsh and Pat Ford and
micro-brewed beers and sodas from Roosters’ brewmaster Steve Kirkland.
Roosters' chef and owner Pete Buttschardt will create culinary temptations
using Beehive cheeses. The food and drink artisans will also be on hand to
answer questions regarding cheese, beverage making and food pairings.
The cost of admission is $40. Proceeds will
benefit Utah's first Ronald McDonald Family Room™ at the Ogden Regional Medical
Center. Tickets can be purchased at all Roosters' locations, Union Grill and at
Beehive Cheese Creamery in Uintah. Admission is limited to 500 and the
event has sold out quickly the past four years.
The first Ronald McDonald Family Room in Utah
opened its doors January 2009 at Ogden Regional Medical Center. The Family
Room is an area inside a hospital serving pediatric patients which is intended
to serve as a quiet rest area for family members of children who have been admitted
for treatment. It replicates a home-like atmosphere and functions as a respite
from the typical hospital environment.
"With great food and beverages to
benefit an important cause, we encourage guests from the Salt Lake area to come
up on Front Runner and see what Ogden has to offer," said Buttschardt.
"Come enjoy a beautiful spring afternoon in downtown Ogden."
