The non-profit Crossroads Urban Center is a vital resource in our community, providing emergency food, diapers, infant formula, clothing and medicine to those in need. --- On Sunday, May 1, from 1 to 5 p.m., Crossroads will host a special fundraiser: "Brats, Beers and Blues."%uFFFD

The event will take place at the Crossroads Food Co-op, 1756 S. 700 West, in Salt Lake City.

Brats, veggie burgers and sides like salads, baked beans, cole slaw and desserts will be served, along with cold beers and non-alcoholic beverages. Blues bands the "Huckleberries" and Ric Romero's "Y Not" will perform. Tickets cost $45, and all proceeds benefit Crossroads Urban Center.

Crossroads Urban Center is a nonprofit, grassroots organization that helps disadvantaged Utahns with critical needs. The organization is home to a thrift store, food co-op, funds for emergency needs, holiday food distributions, the Anti-hunger Action Committee, the Coalition of Religious Communities (advocating for the poor) and Utah’s busiest food pantry.

“This event is a great chance to have fun, enjoy blues, brats and beer, and support important community services for those in need,” says Glenn Bailey, executive director, Crossroads Urban Center.“We fight poverty and injustice at the root rather than just treating the symptoms. At the end of the day, our goal is to help Utahns become self- sufficient,”

Sponsors for Brats, Beers and Blues include Colosimos, Epic Brewing, Squatters and Crowell Advertising & PR.

To purchase reserve tickets in advance (encouraged), call Crossroads at 801-364-7765.
