Park City Restaurateur James Beard Semifinalist

Celebrated Park City restaurateur Bill White, creator of Grappa, Chimayo, Wahso, Windy Ridge and Ghidotti's, is a semifinalist for a 2011 James Beard Award. This puts White, who has already won more than his share of awards and acclaim, in very rarefied company - as the only restaurateur from Utah to make the semifinals of the 2011 James Beard Foundation Awards for Outstanding Restaurateur.

White is vying for a spot in the finals against a heady gaggle of restaurateurs from New York City, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Chicago, Phoenix, Seattle, Washington D.C., Miami, Denver, Atlanta, Boston and elsewhere. Judges from across the country will take a look at the semifinalists and their restaurants over the next month and vote to narrow it down to a final list of nominees, which will be announced on March 21. 

The James Beard Foundation is a New York City-based non-profit organization with the mission to celebrate, nurture, and preserve America's diverse culinary heritage and future.
