Gung Hay Fat Choy! @ Mandarin

The Lunar Year of the Rabbit - Chinese New Year 2011 - begins today and continues for two weeks, through February 17th at Bountiful's Mandarin Chinese restaurant, where you can celebrate in stye. As in previous years, Mandarin will feature the traditional Chinese lion dance, performed by an 8-person troupe, on Wednesday, February 16th at 6:00 PM.

In addition to the regular Mandarin menu, the kitchen staff will preapre a special Chinese New Year Menu for parties of 4 or more people: $20 per person. Included in the New Year menu are:

Zesty Orange Sesame Shrimp

Mandarin Chicken Salad

Char Shu Won Ton Soup

Beef with Asparagus

Szechwan Catfish

Spice Girl Chicken

Satay Pork with Chinese Sausage

Steamed White and Brown Rice

Lychee Creme Brulee with Five Spice Cookie Crisp OR Trio of Homemade Ice Cream: Coconut, Mango, Pineapple with Fresh Berries

           Cookie of Good Fortune 

Specialty cocktails such as the Gingerita and Citrus Blast will be available in addition to wine, Asian beers, ginger brew and China cola (for an additional charge).

The folks at Mandarin encourage guests to wear RED, which represents good fortune.
