Get a Chubby

Got a Chubby yet? Well, now you can get one. Squatters and Wasatch brewing have released their new 5-liter mini-kegs. They've christened their new baby "Chubby," which holds the equivalent of fourteen 12-ounce beers and sells for $23.95.  Currently Chubby flavors include Squatters India Pale Ale and Wasatch Golden Ale. The Chubby is now available ice cold and ready to drink at the Beer Store at 1763 South 300 West and will be also be available, unchilled, at the DABC Stores.

“The name Chubby,” Greg Schirf, operating partner of Squatters and Wasatch Brewery explains, “was just a fun name we came up while brain storming one day. No, it was not named after me,” he deadpanned. While the popular perception was that the alcohol container size was limited to 32 ounces in Utah, research with the DABC confirmed this regulation was only limited to the grocery store markets. Schirf explained it was Squatters famed brewmaster Jenny Talley who first identified the opportunity.
