In-N-Out coming to Layton! ... Maybe

Posted // 2010-03-23 - Rumor has it that In-N-Out Burger is coming to Layton, supposedly to the sight of the defunct Fuddruckers. So, I decided to try to find out if there was any truth to the rumor.
Well, in a non-committal, no-comment sort of response worthy of American politicians, here's In-N-Out's answer to my query:
"Thank you for your
e-mail. It's always nice to hear from our customers, and we appreciate
your interest.
As plans for new locations are always subject to change, we are unable to
confirm any site as a future In-N-Out BurgerŪ until it is under
construction. However, we can affirm that we plan on expanding as far as
we can, and particularly into areas in which our customers have expressed
interest. As such, we are happy to let our Real Estate Department know
that you are anxious to have an In-N-Out BurgerŪ location in your area!
Thank you again for contacting us."
So, is In-N-Out coming to Layton? Your guess is as good as mine. Let me know if you have any concrete info!

Hnmmm. That's serendipitous. I just commented on the In-and-Out Burger silliness yesterday:
"My pet rock-peeve with the local media fawning over ho-hum items, is In-And-Out Burger. Both KSL and KUTV, the number one and two news organizations in town, had actual news stories not about new In-And-Out stores, but that there was a rumor that I and O had purchased a lot in the south valley and there was WILD speculation that they were going to open...Another location! Oh my god, look at the video footage of people eating a goddam simple burger and fries! Oh, the humanity! In-And-Out makes the best bad food since The Last Supper! I cannot believe that they are going to "consider" opening another location! Look at that line out the door and around the block! My god,it's the Second Coming of In-And-Out Burger! They don't do that for any of the burger chains in town. Ever. Not for any of the home grown, family owned burger joints, either. Why In-And-Out? Do they just have better PR people? Possibly. Is their food THAT much better, Naw. In fact, it's not as good as what's already available, just better PR.
Yes, In-N-Out is coming to Layton! They have visited a number of times over the last year. There was supposed to be a big announcement sometime this week, but time is running out. It will probably not be the Fuddruckers location. That is a terrible location and they were made aware of that. The Tony Romas location was already slated for other restaurants. They are coming, but instead of trying to beat Draper, it is turning out to be coming likely after Centerville's. Hey, at least they are coming!
Fuddruckers would be a bad place to put an In-N-Out. All that traffic would be a pain in the *&^!
They should put it where the old Tony Romo's use to be. That would be easy to get too.
In-N-Out Burger coming to Layt-un? Oh bless the Hamburger Gods and when? Oh pray, tells we poor hungry souls in the northlands of Davis County, when oh when oh when can we be expecting burgers from In-N-Out? Corporate In-N-Out Burger's response is just NOT acceptable. No it is not. So okay Scheffler, you are our go-to guy on this. So no pressure okie-dokie? However and that being said, when? I'm hungry!!!
