There are wine dinners, and then there are wine dinners ... this one promises to be a doozy.
On Sunday, Oct. 13, Pago Chefs Phelix Gardener and Drew Fuller, along with sommelier/winemaker Evan Lewandowski, will team up with Salt Lake's Frog Bench Farms to celebrate the end of the harvest season and to showcase three wines from RUTH Lewandowski Wines, Evan Lewandowski's Utah winery.
The fruit for RUTH wines comes from Mendocino, and the dinner menu for this unique gathering is highlighted by Frog Bench Farms produce. Frog Bench Farms is an amazing place and a wonderful setting for a celebratory wine dinner.
The three RUTH Lewandowski wines being poured will be Mahlon 2012 Arnies; Chilion 2012 Cortese; and Boaz 2012 Carignan.
Menu items include heirloom-pumpkin hash with duck confit; grilled duck breast roulade and huckleberry gastrique; potato risotto with creme fraiche; Frog Bench Farms agrodulce with squash, eggplant, sweet peppers and fennel lavosh; breakfast radishes with whipped bacon butter and much more.
Dinner begins at 5:30 p.m. and the cost per person is $65/food; $45/wine; $10/farm (goes directly to Frog Bench Farms), plus tax and 20% gratuity.
