Glad You Asked: Weekend To-Dos

Dear GYA, A lot of people have been asking me, "Yo, big man, who you got in this weekend's matchup between BYU and University of Utah?" and honestly, I have no idea what any of these idiots are talking about. Should I care about this? These are colleges, right? Playing a football game? Oh!, Damn it. Seriously? Anything happening this weekend besides the "Holy War?" -God

God, Huh, I always figured you for a sports guy. No shit. Here's what's happening this weekend besides college football. Let's start with Friday's events:

Country-singer Luke Bryan will be at USANA Amphitheater tonight. Show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20.   

Singer-songwriter Matt Wertz will be at The State Room this evening. The show starts at 9. Tickets are $22.   

Learning Team and My Fair Fiend will be onstage at Kilby Court. Tickets are $6. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Local rock band The Weekenders will be at Urban Lounge tonight. The music starts at 9. Tickets are $5.


Saturday's events:  

 At Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake will be taking on the San Jose Earthquakes. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets start at $25. 

Guttermouth, Agent Orange and Pinata Protest will be at Burt's Tiki Lounge tonight. The show starts at 7. Tickets are $14 in advance, $16 day of.

Drink wine and help endangered rhinos at The Leonardo's Winos for Rhinos fundraiser tonight at 6:30. Tickets start at $75.  

Canadian indie-pop band Stars will be at Urban Lounge this evening. The tunes starts at 9. Tickets are $20 in advance. 

Folk band Shook Twins will be at The State Room, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $13.  

Zest Kitchen and Bar will be hosting the all-soul-music evening, Big Town Soul Stomp, starting at 9. Free before 10:30 p.m. or $5 after.  


Sunday's events:

City Weekly, True TV & Brewvies will be showing the final season of AMC's Breaking Bad, for free, on the big screen! The show starts at 7 pm. 

Space Rock ensemble Lightning Dust will be at performing at Urban Lounge, starting at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10. 

Indie-rock band Minus The Bear will be at The Depot, beginning at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.  

Seventeen-year-old Las Vegas-based  rapper Dizzy Wright will be at Kilby Court this evening. Emilio Rojas and Futuristic are also on the bill. The show starts at 8. Tickets are $15.
