Glad You Asked: Salt City Derby Girls and Jay Reid

Dear GYA, Well, it finally happened. My girlfriend pulled the trigger and got me a Forever Lazy for Christmas. It's sort of like a Snuggie but it has legs. The only problem is, instead of sitting around and being lazy, my girlfriend wants us to wear 'em out in public -- together -- where people can see us. Is there anything happening today that would be somewhat all right to wear a Forever Lazy? - Hank Pulltrouser, Downtown SLC---
Hank, This is what we do. We have no choice but to wear the ridiculous outfits our girlfriends buy us. Let's just hope other people understand your misery while you're out in public. Here are some options for today:
At Burt's Tiki Lounge, the Salt Lake Derby Girls are throwing a fundraiser to raise money for a new bout venue. The Derby Girls themselves will be in attendance, as well as local bands Cliterinas and Year of the Wolf. The party starts at 9 p.m.
Wiseguys Trolley Square is hosting stand-up comedian Jay Reid tonight. Reid is the Winner of Who's Got Jokes? Season 4 and he's currently on tour with '90s MTV veejay Bill Bellamy. This event is for ages 18 and over. Doors open at 7:30.

- Mister Richter and 7Eves will be onstage at Kilby Court tonight. Doors open at 7.
- Zest Kitchen & Bar will host DJ's Detox and Matt Monson at 9 p.m.
- Soul & funk band A.M. Bump will be live at Gracie's, beginning at 9 p.m.
