Glad You Asked: Weekend Edition

Dear GYA, Somehow, my 8-year-old found out about the Elmo scandal. Which is fine, but I'm having a hard time answering all her questions. Like, I tried explaining it using sock puppets yesterday and I only made it worse. Is there anything happening this weekend that's non-puppet related? That way I can avoid the topic entirely. - Daria Frenkel, Ogden

Daria, Just tell her that everyone has the right to fall in love, even asexual puppets. It's the right thing to do. In the meantime, here are some options for your weekend. Let's start with Friday:

- Folk duo Birds of Chicago will be onstage at The State Room, beginning at 9 p.m.

- Midwest rapper Blueprint will be on the mic at The Shred Shed, starting at 9 p.m.

- The creepy, ooky Addams Family Musical will be happening at The Capitol Theatre at 8 p.m; Saturday matinee at 2 p.m.
