Dear GYA, I just bought that book 50 Shades of Grey, I don't know what it's about but I'm assuming it has something to do with the duality of mankind and the ambiguous standards of right and wrong. I think this would be a good thing to read at my Mormon book club tonight. Anything else happening this evening that's as stimulating as 50 Shades of Grey? Meredith Muellerbaul, Sugar House
Meredith, you hit the nail on the head. I think your Mormon book club would love to hear you read this out loud. Here's a few suggestions for this evening...
Over at Pioneer Park, the indie rock band My Morning Jacket will be performing at the Twilight Concert Series. The Kentucky five hasn’t written nay new tunes since the 2011 release Circuital, but nonetheless for 5 bucks this will surely be great show. Local singer andsongwriter, Joshua James will open things up. The show starts at 7 p.m.
Multi-instrumentalist Keller Williams will be performing at The Depot. Williams is a one man band who plays everything from bass, guitar,percussion--pretty much anything that makes noise and he blends it all together via loop pedals and a DAT machine. Mostly known for his bluegrass albums, Williams covers reggae, dance and rock just to name a few. The show starts at 9 p.m.
The 2011 City Weekly band of the year, King Niko will be on stage at The Complex this evening. The Salt Lake City indie-electro crew has played with Loverboy, Rooney, Say Anything, 30 Seconds To Mars, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Grouplove, Neon Trees and Panic! At The Disco. The show starts at 8 p.m.
A few more worthwhile events happening tonight:
- The Salt Lake Acting Company will be hosting Saturday'sVoyeur tonight at 7:30 p.m.
- Spotlight Entertainment Karaoke will be going down at the Bourbon House at 9 p.m.
- The Salt Lake Bees will be taking on the New Orleans Zephyrs tonight at 7:05 p.m.
