Glad You Asked

Glad You Asked: Scorpions, Bees and Books

Dear GYA, Gaaaaaa aaaarrrrr. Arrrrrggggg gggghhhhh. Grrrrruu uuuffff. Mooou uuurrr?! -Predator

Predator, I know, I know -- the plot of Prometheus is ridiculously confusing. You're not the only one who left the theater scratching your head, or whatever you call that thing on your shoulders. Anyway, here are a few things happening today that are worth checking out:

The Scorpions, otherwise known as the '80s hair band that everyone secretly listens to, will be performing at Usana Amphitheatre. This will undoubtedly be a great opportunity to dust off those those old leather pants and get down to classic ballads like "Winds of Change" and "Rock You Like a Hurricane." Queensryche is also on the bill. The doors open at 7:30 p.m.

The Salt Lake Bees will be taking on the Tacoma Rainiers tonight at 7:05 p.m. Today is Smith's Family Night at Spring Mobile Ballpark, which means you can grab a ticket and a hot dog for only $5. Shop around, you can't beat that price.

Head to the Main Library today for the Fierce Reads Tour, beginning at 7 p.m. Young-adult-fiction authors Anna Banks, Jennifer Bosworth, Leigh Bardugo, Emmy Laybourne and Marissa Meyer will be on hand to discuss their newest books and the art of solid fiction writing.

Other worthwhile events today:

- Bass shed is happening at the Woodshed tonight at 9 p.m.

- Every Monday, the Tracy Aviary is offering up $5 admission after 5p.m.

- The Gallivan Center will be putting its free Lunch Bunch Concert Series today at noon.
