Dear GYA, What dis I hear about Sketchers gettin' sued for $40 million dollars? Man, how dumb is that?! People be sayin' that Shape-ups don't work -- boooy, I wish they'd bring that mess to Karl Malone. Ya'll  need to recognize that Shape-ups activate all them muscles inside of your body.--- Look at me -- I wear Sketchers, I'm strong. It don't matter what no scrawny scientist say. Anyway, anything happening today where Karl Malone could wear these Sketchers?-- Karl Malone

Karl, I couldn't agree more. Who cares if Sketchers made unfounded claims about its products? They've got you and Joe Montana rockin' their shoes. Besides, everyone knows that geriatric athletes trump science every time. Here's what's happening today:

Electro-house DJ and producer Moguai will be performing tonight at Club Elevate. In 2010, the German native signed to Deadmau5's record label mau5trap, and since then Moguai has become a household name in the EDM world, collaborating with such big-name artists like Britney Spears and Afrojack.

Dust off your checkerboard chukkas and skank on over to In The Venue/Club Sound to witness the legendary punk band Pennywise. As part of the All or Nothing Tour, the SoCal punk-rockers will more than likely sell out this all-ages show. Tickets are going for a mere $19.50 and the show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Stand-up comedian Pete Holmes will be behind the mic at Wiseguys Trolley Square. The funnyman has appeared on Conan and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon -- and this will blow your mind: He's the voice for the E-trade baby. Tickets are going for $15 and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Other worthwhile events:

- Author Sandra Dallas will be signing her latest book True Sisters at The King's English Bookshop tonight at 7 p.m.

- Check out the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival going on at the Davis County Event Center.

- DJs ChaseOne2 and Cholula will be spinning tunes at Gracie's, beginning at 7 p.m.
