Glad You Asked: Fanfarlo, Haunted Houses & The Office

Dear GYA, A couple of days ago, I stopped a clumsy reporter from stepping into traffic in NYC and it got me thinking, "I'm not meant to be an actor--I should be a super hero." I think I'm going to take to the streets and stop accidents before they happen. I'll be all like, "Hey, girl, don't listen to your iPod while waiting at the TRAX stop. It's dangerous." Then I'll take my shirt off and fly away. It'll be so sweet. - Ryan Gosling somewhere in NYC

Ryan, this sounds like a great idea. You're a man of action and your skills shouldn't be confined to just film. The people need a hero. But while you're thinking about this possible career change, here are some things going on today that'll keep you busy:

Check out Fanfarlo over at Urban Lounge. They're a London-based electro-folk band that City Weekly Music Editor Austen Diamond describes as a cross between Fun and Mumford and Sons. They'll be performing tracks from their celebrated new album Rooms Filled With Light. Gardens and Villa will be opening. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Fear Factory is gearing up for its Spring Insurrection Haunt and today are opening the doors for sneak-peek dress rehearsal. This event has limited capacity so please RSVP before showing up. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Stand-up comedian Mike E. Winfield will be performing at Wiseguys Trolley Square. Besides his nationwide tour, the self-deprecating funny man is also known for his recent guest spots as a warehouse worker on NBC's The Office. Tickets are going for $12 and the show starts at 7 p.m.

Other worthwhile events:

- The Park City Performing Arts Foundation will be showing a live stream of the TEDxChange at the Eccles Center for the Performing Arts.

- NPR's Radiolab Live: In The Dark will be at the Capitol Theatre tonight at 7:30 p.m.

- World famous Karaoke night at the Bourbon House starts at 9 p.m.
