Dear GYA, What is so dangerous about a kid like Ferris Bueller is he gives good kids bad ideas. The last thing I need at this point in my career is 1,500 Ferris Bueller disciples running around these halls. That’s why I need to catch him this time, to show these kids that the example he sets is a first-class ticket to nowhere. – Ed Rooney, principal, Glenbrook North High School---

Oh, Ed, you sounded like Dirty Harry just then. I’d love to help you but it’s gonna be tough  since there’s so much going on today. For starters, I know that the li'l punk likes art exhibits. So head over to The Chocolate, a dessert café, for Mathew Chatterley’s art show debut. He’s a local painter who’s known for his Utah-based landscape and figurative pieces. The show starts at 6 p.m.

Next, I would head over to Energy Solutions Arena for the Jazz and Timberwolves game. Remember, he’s a broke high school kid with no job so he’ll probably be found in the upper-bowl with those $8 tickets you can still get in advance. Tip-off starts at 7 p.m.

If you don’t spot him there, then head over to The Depot for the Rebelution concert. The four-piece reggae crew from Santa Barbara is also performing with celebrated Hieroglyphics emcee Pep Love and The Green. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. This one will probably sell out.

Other good spots for a truant high school student:

- At 10 p.m., a free screening of Robocop at Brewvies

- At 8 p.m., bar trivia with Geeks Who Drink at Lumpy's Downtown

- All-day art exhibit, Joshua Luther: Meaning at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art
