Snowstorm for Safety
The week of Dec. 2-6, Bambara restaurant (202 S. Main, 801-363-5454) and Executive Chef Nathan Powers will offer “Snowstorm” lunch specials where $1 of each $13 three-course lunch offered will benefit the Utah Avalanche Center. “I love Utah for the unsurpassed mountain recreation here,” Powers says. “I think it’s important that we give back and support the organizations that help us to safely enjoy our passion for winter sports. ... The Utah Avalanche Center provides critical avalanche and mountain weather information to help people make life-and-death decisions in the backcountry.” Snowstorm lunches include a choice of organic greens or cup of soup, a homemade chocolate chip cookie and entrees like a 9-ounce burger or smoked turkey wrap. Feldman’s Anniversary
In celebration of their first anniversary, the gang at Feldman’s Deli (2005 E. 2700 South, FeldmansDeli.com) are hosting a special evening of comedy on Friday, Dec. 6, called Old Jews Telling Jokes. This is a reserved-seating event for only 50 patrons, so you’ll want to get your reservation in ASAP. The cost is $25, which includes dinner. And if you would like to tell a joke to the group, you’ll get $5 off your meal. Old Jews Telling Jokes is co-sponsored by Uinta Brewing. Call Feldman’s at 801-906-0369 to reserve your spot.

Dinner & a Show
A cool new movie theater has opened in Ogden (2293 Grant Ave., 801-621-4738), called Movie Grille. It features theaters with reclining leather seats that are more comfortable than anything I have at home. You can order food and eat right at your seat. Plus, there’s beer and wine available. The food is made from scratch and is very good; menu options include pizzas, paninis, salads, appetizers and burgers. There are also billiard tables and a bar/lounge to hang out in, even if you’re not seeing a film. Best of all, ticket prices are $6 and under. Watch for a full-length review soon. MovieGrille.com
