Poor Yorick Studios Open House

FRIDAY 9.25

By Brian Staker
Posted // September 23,2009 -

The local art scene wouldn’t be quite what it is without Poor Yorick. There are other large studios where artists can find a space to work that’s large enough for them to create on a large scale, and having an atmosphere where artists working under the same roof creates a sense of community. But Poor Yorick is among the best known and the first to enhance the social aspect of creating art among other artists.

A Poor Yorick open house is also one of the highlights for the artsy crowd socially, when it opens its doors twice a year to show off the work of dozens of local painters, photographers, sculptors and printmakers in their native environment, allowing the public to discuss their artistic processes and maybe even see them at work. It’s the biggest art party in tow,n with food, refreshments, and a buzz that is almost enough to make anyone want to pick up a brush.

Poor Yorick Studio Open House @ 126 W. Crystal Ave (2590 South), Friday, Sept. 25 6-10 p.m. & Saturday, Sept. 26 1-5 p.m., 801-759-8681.
