Shalom Salaam Tikkun Olam
Thursday, Dec. 23 & Friday Dec. 24
Sometimes the idea of “peace” gets lost in translation between peoples and cultures—but you couldn’t tell that from the good works of the Shalom Salaam Tikkun Olam program, an interfaith donation drive by local representatives of the Salt Lake City Jewish and Muslim communities. This year, the organization is collecting donations to deliver to more than 600 senior citizens. Needed items include liquid soap, hats, scarves, 20-pound bags of basmati and jasmine rice and winter coats for children and adults.
West High School, 241 N. 300 West, 801-487-6970, Dec. 23, 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. & Dec. 24, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. E-mail Eileen Hallet Stone for more info at firstname.lastname@example.org
