Theatre Arts Conservatory: Intersection

FRIDAY 7.31

The next generation of great local stage acting doesn’t start when the practitioners are already adults, any more than the next generation of great athletes begins with the NCAA. For five years, Theatre Arts Conservatory—in conjunction with Plan-B Theatre Company—has made it a goal to take young would-be actors, and train them for how to be trained. You can see some of the results in a public performance of Intersection, a new play by BYU faculty member Eric Samuelsen, whose Amerigo will be part of next season’s Plan-B lineup.

Addressing interpersonal relationships touched by conflict and anger, it follows nine young women as they—in the words of a press release— “negotiate a space where evil threatens and violence looms.” In this theater space, though, it’s all about the love. Proceeds from the production will support the Theatre Arts Conservatory scholarship and outreach fund—so you can support the next next generation.

Theatre Arts Conservatory: Intersection @ Rose Wagner Studio Theatre, 138 W. 300 South, 801-355-2787, July 31–Aug. 1, 7 p.m. TheatreArtsConservatory.com
