Saturday’s Voyeur 2009: Radio Show

Friday, June 5-Sunday, Aug. 16

In these uncertain financial times, one thing remains a certainty: More than 30 years since it was born, Salt Lake Acting Company’s Saturday’s Voyeur will appear each spring to give the prevailing political and social sensibilities of our state a swift kick in the ass. This year, co-creators Allen Nevins and Nancy Borgenicht have spun their traditional satire into paean to the radio shows that thrived during another period of economic upheaval in America.

Lehi radio station KIM1RU presents the serialized story of Utah Valley’s “most dysfunctional family, the Freebes.” You can expect appearances from plenty of the people and stories that made local news over the last 12 months including the inimitable Chris Buttars, the “Hotter-Day Saints” shirtless missionary calendar and, yes, shaky financial institutions. This institution, however, doesn’t show any signs of requiring a bailout any time soon.
