The Mormon church’s apology for its past racism is as genuine as Rush Limbaugh’s apology to Sandra Fluke for calling her a slut and a prostitute on his show for three straight days for her public support of affordable contraception for women.
The church apologizes only because it is losing support and tithing because of it. By the way, Mormon church leaders and “good” Mormons, men and women, believe the same things about women as Rush Limbaugh, although their public language is less direct. That’s why pornography consumption by Mormon men in Utah and those raised in this overwhelmingly misogynist Mormon culture is the highest per capita in the country. And that’s also why Utah’s “good” Mormon members in the U.S. Congress are voting to deny affordable contraception to women.

The Mormon Church also needs to apolgize for past atrocities, such as the Mountan Meadows Massacre and the Utah War; I believe these two items were the reason why the President of the United States had to send a contingent of Federal Troops, led by Albert Syndey Johnston, commonly referred to as Johnston's Army, to Utah in 1857.
