The Girl Who Played With Fire
Hacker Lisbeth (Noomi Rapace) is accused of murdering a pair of journalists, and only Mickael (Michael Nyqvist) from that other movie believes she’s innocent; unraveling of vast conspiracies and sexy IKEA talk ensue. (Music Box Films)

Growing the Big One
A city gal (Shannen Doherty) moves to the country to take over her dead grandfather’s farm, only to find it in foreclosure—and the only way she can raise the money to save it is by entering a contest to grow a giant pumpkin. So, not porn. (IMC)

Sex and the City 2
Four New York City trannies travel to Abu Dahbi to go shopping and learn Valuable Life Lessons about friendship, love and shopping. For dudes, says Roger Ebert, “There’s more cleavage in this film than at a pro wrestler’s wedding.” Sold! (New Line)

The Venture Bros.: Season 4 Vol. 1
Not usually a fan of half-season DVD sets—but since The Venture Bros. is the greatest animated series ever, an exception must be made. Vol. 1 introduces Captain Sunshine, Monstroso and a dog with Hitler’s DNA. See? Great! (Warner Bros.)

Winter’s Bone
A teenage girl (Jennifer Lawrence) searches for her deadbeat father, who put the family’s house up for his bail bond and then disappeared. Surprisingly, Ozark hillbillies aren’t much help in these matters, and “riveting thriller” means “slooow.” (Lionsgate)
