Area 51
The largest dance club in Salt Lake City will be throwing a massive Halloween party complete with three dance floors, $2,000 in cash prizes, a free raffle and music by DJ Jeremiah, DJ Radar and DJ Evil K. Cover is $10. 451 S. 400 West, 801-534-0819

Huka Bar & Grill
Anyone in a sweet costume (example: banana suit) and college kids get in for only $2 on Halloween. DJ Awdamaddix will be holding down the decks, and there will be plenty of prizes for the best costumes. Lame-os not in costume pay a $7 cover. Habits
Habits always goes big on Halloween. This year, the best costume snags a free two-night hotel & airline package to Las Vegas. Runners-up take home cash prizes and party swag. Resident DJ Scotty B will hold down the dance floor. There’s no cover or dress code, and the party starts at 8 p.m. 832 E. 3900 South, 801-268-2228

The Royal
Big prizes are at stake for the best costumes as the man himself, DJ Big Snack, holds it down on the dance floor. While you’re there, narsh on some on hefty half-priced nachos. The party starts at 9 p.m.; no cover. 4760 S. 900 East, 801-590-9940

Club 90
All of your favorite jams will be rocked to an oblivion with local band The Hard Rockin’ Johnsons. A $200 cash prize will go to the best costume, and the runners-up get a grip of preloaded Kostizi cards. There’s a $5 cover after 7 p.m. 9065 S. Monroe St., Sandy, 801-566-3254

The Green Pig
Winners of this costume contest walk away with brand-spankin’-new flat-screen TV. If that isn’t enough to get you to downtown’s only rooftop bar, local band The Gamma Rays will be holdin’ down the stage. The party starts at 9 p.m., cover TBA. 31 E. 400 South, 801-532-7441

The Woodshed
Local acts Folk Hogan, The Saintanne and Zero Summers will warm things up before touring band Rookie of the Year takes the stage. Costumes aren’t mandatory, but feel free to wear one if you feel inclined. The music starts at 10 p.m., and there’s a $5 cover. 60 E. 800 South, 801-364-0805

Bourbon House
Get ready to belt out your best version of “Thriller” with a full night of karaoke action from the folks at Spotlight Entertainment. There’s a costume contest, with bar swag and tons of sweet prizes, at midnight. The karaoke jams kick off at 10 p.m. 19 E. 200 South, 801-746-1005

Inferno Cantina
Inferno Cantina will be hosting the Dead Sexy Affair, with cash giveaways for best costumes, prizes from Doctor John’s, and music from U92’s DJ Erockalypze and DJ Dizz. If you need a ride, Party Bus Nation can scoop you up. The party starts at 9 p.m., and there’s no cover. 122 W. Pierpont Ave., 801-883-8838

Lumpys Downtown
Halloween Havoc will be going down as Lumpys Downtown teams up with party promoters The Greek Knights and Lazy Panda. Expect $1,000 in cash prizes and plenty of party swag. Plus, a Halloween-centric Quiz-O-Leen (pub quiz) starting up at 7 p.m. DJ Bentley, DJ Elvis Freshly and DJ SamEyeAm will be on the decks. Barbary Coast
Local blues-rock band Ledd Foot will be holding down the stage at Barbary Coast’s Monster Mash party. There’s a $100 cash prize for best costume, and plenty of beefy bar tabs are being offered up for the runners-up. Plus, Scotty and Karaoke Kriminals will be serving all the best karaoke covers. A Bar Named Sue on Highland

Midvale Leave your store-bought costume at home, because at Cheers to You Midvale, the audience is selecting who scores a free trip to Mexico. Johnny’s on Second

One of the biggest parties of the year is The Hotel’s annual Monstermash, featuring costume contests and prizes and three floors of music featuring DJ Loki, Timone, Hijack’d, TeeJay, Soca, DJ Juggy, DJ Handsome Hands and DJ Sayo.
