Twi-lite: I Was a Teenage Vampire

There are different levels of popularity that something (or someone) can achieve. If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then you better believe you are on tip-top if you are being parodied. The Twilight franchise has entranced an entire nation of naive tweens, mid-20s nonreaders and moms who are looking for a wholesome way to relate to their daughters through a shared love for unrealistic portrayals of romance. South Park, SNL and YouTube users galore have already had a crack at it, so now it’s time to continue the ridicule in a new medium: theater.

Playwright Ben E. Millet has concocted the comical Twi-lite:

I Was a Teenage Vampire. Seth, the high school geek, pretends to be a vampire to get the attention of the popular cheerleader, Chelsea, due to her obsession with a fictional vampire character. All is fine until a real vampire challenges him to a showdown. Oh, Twilight! Thank you for the laughs!
