David Burnett: Soul Rebel

Aug. 26

After four decades of documenting the world through astounding photojournalism, Utah native David Burnett reveals his new book, Soul Rebel: A Portrait of Bob Marley, at The King’s English Bookshop.

The visual biography documents Marley’s personal life in Jamaica as well as early looks at up-and-coming reggae artists such as Peter Tosh and Lee Scratch Perry. Burnett’s ability to capture original images of popular subjects should set this collection apart from other books on Marley. You can forget cliché images of the icon in Rastafarian hues surrounded by a cloud of smoke. Soul Rebel contains striking, candid shots of Marley that provide a window into the daily life and personality of the performer. A sample of the book’s contents is available on Burnett’s Website, DavidBurnett.com.

Acquaint yourself with his work before you meet the man behind the camera.
