Intermezzo Chamber Music Series

July 13-Aug. 10

So far, Obama’s plan for reviving the economy has centered on injecting stimulus money into various infrastructures in the United States. This is all well and good, but there is one strategy the president has so far left untapped: marketing a soundtrack of economy-themed chamber music. Luckily, Utah’s own Intermezzo group is on the ball.

Westminster College will host 2009 Intermezzo Chamber Music Series season every Monday from July 13—Aug. 10. Included in this season are five concerts, all with themes relating to the economy. Intermezzo’s mission is to keep the art of chamber music alive in the community. The internationally acclaimed musicians of Intermezzo envision this year’s series as a “stimulus plan” for Intermezzo’s TARP (Troubled Artist Relief Package). The location of the concert series at Westminster, adjacent to the mountains and overlooking Salt Lake City, enriches the musical experience. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, free for students with IDs.

Intermezzo Chamber Music Series @ Westminster College Vieve Gore Concert Hall, 1250 E. 1700 South, 801- 582-8746, July 13-Aug. 10, 6 p.m. IntermezzoConcerts.org
