More Bountiful!
As I was cruising around Bountiful, I happened upon another enticing new eatery but never managed to hit it at the right time—i.e., when it was open. And it doesn’t even seem to have a phone number listing. But adjacent (literally attached to the building) to Marcello’s Italian Restaurant in Bountiful, at 375 N. Main, is a joint called Argentina Barbecue. The sign out front advertises beef, chicken and pork sausage, and that’s all I know. But City Weekly writer Stephen Dark—who spent many years in Argentina and is a self-proclaimed “master of Argentine barbecue”—says this cuisine is something very special, so stay tuned.

Freaky?
What is up with this? All of a sudden, you can’t swing a dead cat by the tail without hitting a Jimmy John’s “Gourmet Sandwich” joint. Almost overnight, they’re everywhere, including at the old Squirrel Brothers Ice Cream location on 400 South, where, for inexplicable reasons, they’ve painted the big double-dip ice cream cone out front black. Well, according to the folks at Jimmy John’s, they make the “world’s greatest gourmet sandwiches.” Who knew? I tried to find out a little bit about Jimmy John’s at their Website, but the music was so annoying—Freaky fast! Freaky fast!”—that I had to bail. Apparently, Jimmy John’s is also America’s No. 1 sandwich-delivery business. And, yes, it’s so fast, it’s … freaky! Visit JimmyJohns.com to mix your own, personal, freaky-fast soundtrack.

Taste of the Tropics
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is offering a tropics-inspired spring prix-fixe menu through June 20: appetizer, entrée, side dish and dessert for $35.95. Options include butter-lettuce salad, steak Caribe, Kingston Banks roast chicken, salmon citron, pineapple tart and more. Fleming’s is located at The Gateway; phone 801-355-3704 for reservations.
