St. Paddy’s in Midway
For St. Patrick’s Day weekend, March 16-17, Midway’s Blue Boar Inn & Restaurant (1235 Warm Springs Road, 435-654-1400) will offer a special selection of Irish-influenced dishes. According to Executive Chef Eric May, in addition to the Blue Boar’s regular gourmet offerings, the green-tinged menu for the weekend will include corned beef & cabbage, Guinness-braised short ribs, Bailey’s Irish Cream cheesecake and, of course, traditional Irish soda bread. The Blue Boar also offers an extensive list of Irish whiskeys and beers. And what better place to enjoy them than in the Old World ambiance of Blue Boar’s Truffle Hollow pub? Visit TheBlueBoarInn.com for more information.

Hurry in for Curry
It’s no secret that one of my favorite go-to takeout spots over the years has been Curry in a Hurry (2020 S. State, 801-467-4137). I love curry so much that my cat is even named Curry. Well, I’m pleased as punch to announce that a second Curry in a Hurry location has opened, this one in Sugar House at 2223 S. Highland Drive (801-487-2994). Among the reasons owner Mona Nisar cites for opening Curry in a Hurry: “It’s very satisfying for me to feed my own family, but it’s not enough. I want to feed the whole community the same way.” For those not familiar, Curry in a Hurry is a halal restaurant featuring quick, inexpensive Indian and Pakistani food. Visit ILoveCurryInAHurry.com for more information.

Meet Slow Food Artisans
On Monday, March 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Slow Food Park City and the Swaner EcoCenter will host Meet the Producers, a gathering of local farmers, ranchers, bakers and other artisan-food producers. The public will have the opportunity to learn about options for locally and sustainably produced foods, as well as enjoy refreshments and food samples. Some of the producers lined up to attend Meet the Producers include representatives from Creminelli Fine Meats, Amour Spreads, Bell Organic Farm, Paisley Farms and many more. The event will be held at the Swaner EcoCenter (1258 Center Drive, Park City). Visit Facebook.com/SlowFoodPC for more information.
