Lugano Celebrates Autumn

Chef Greg Neville and his Lugano (3364 S. 2300 East, LuganoRestaurant.com) crew are busy this fall with a number of events and menu specials. For starters, Meatball Mondays are back: $10 spaghetti & meatballs (Greg’s meatballs are awesome). Then, there are Tortellini Tuesdays (featuring handmade tortellini pasta) and Wood-Oven Wednesdays (when Lugano will offer hand-thrown pizzas baked a wood-fired oven). A “Splash, Glass, or 3-Wine-Flight” special will also be available Monday through Wednesday. Also upcoming, on Oct. 17, is the 12th-Annual Uinta Brewing Co. Beer Dinner, featuring a six-course meal ($59) with optional beer ($20) or wine ($30) pairings. Nov. 3 brings the Fatalone Wine Dinner to Lugano, with special guest winemaker Pasquale Petrera. The dinner is $59 with optional wine pairings available for $35.

Finally, Neville will also be sharing his culinary expertise with cooking classes this fall: The foods of Piedmont are featured Oct. 20, and the Nov. 10 class will focus on the cuisine of Verona. Classes are $55 per person, and reservations for all events and classes can be made by calling 801-412-9994.

Feeling a Draft?
An all-new gastropub is opening Oct. 12 in Park City at Canyons’ Westgate Resort. It’s called Drafts Sports Bar & Grill and, true to its name, will feature 50 bottled beers and drafts, along with cocktails and wine. The menu also features the F’n Hot Challenge, where customers who can eat 10 chicken wings with F’n Hot Sauce without drinking water or making a trip to the water closet for five minutes after the challenge will win prizes, free wings and have their photo enshrined on the wall. Get Zesty
Zest Kitchen & Bar (275 S. 200 West, 801-859-8505, Facebook.com/ZestSLC) opened Oct. 2, featuring healthful, organic vegetarian fare such as beet ravioli with cashew cheese, zucchini chips with sunflower cheese, Thai coconut-carrot soup, borscht, pear tarte tatin and much more, including an appealing-looking wine list, beer, spirits and cocktails, plus live music, dancing and DJs.
