The second-annual Beer, Blues & Brats benefit party for Crossroads Urban Center will take place Sunday, April 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. The public is invited to munch on Colosimo’s bratwurst, veggie burgers, baked beans, salads, coleslaw and delicious desserts, while washing it all down with beers from Epic Brewing. Live blues will be supplied by The Soul Benders. Tickets are a minimum $45 donation per person to Crossroads Urban Center and can be purchased by calling Jim at 801-364-7765, ext. 108. The Beer, Blues & Brats party will be held at the Food Co-op, 1756 S. 700 West in Salt Lake City. Crossroads is a nonprofit, grass-roots organization that assists low-income, disabled and minority Utahns in meeting their everyday needs and addressing essential issues affecting their quality of life. It also operates one of the busiest emergency food pantries in the state and a thrift store. For more information, visit Crossroads-u-c.org.

Cheesy Class
Everything you ever wanted to know about artisan cheese but were afraid to ask will be covered at Beehive Cheese Company’s Cheese 101: An Introduction to Artisan Cheese. Stop in a little before 6:15 p.m. to enjoy a tasty complimentary beverage, a tour of the creamery and some socializing. The fee for the class is $20 per person.
