A new barbecue eatery—Sonny Bryan’s Smokehouse—has opened a second Utah restaurant, and Salt Lake City’s first, at 1414 Foothill Blvd. in the Foothill Village Shopping Center. There is also a Sandy restaurant location. Sonny Bryan’s dates back to 1910, when Elias Bryan opened Bryan’s Barbecue in Dallas. Today, there are numerous locations, mostly in Texas’ Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Menu items at Sonny Bryan’s include pulled pork, chicken and beef; barbecued pork ribs; beef brisket; jalapeno sausage; po’boy sandwiches; chicken wings and something called a Frito pie.
