At the start of each month this summer, the entire street that is Kilby Court has been taken over by a crowd-pleasing musical flea market. The brainchild of Audrey Gallegos and Karamea Puriri, these festivals provide tasty treats and goods for purchase or trade to a public looking for a friendly alternative to buying or selling secondhand items as well as catching live performances.

Featuring musical performances priced at less than half the usual cost, the occasional skate-ramp demo and random last-minute surprises, the market has become a must-attend monthly event. But, chilly fall weather puts an end to the street’s use, which means Sunday will be the market’s final official showing of 2010. Playing live onstage will be Spell Talk, Night Sweats and Desert Noises.

Salty Streets Flea Market @ Kilby Court, 741 S. 330 West, 801-364-3538, Oct. 10, 12-6 p.m., $2
