Who Did 'It Gets Better' Best?

By Rachel Piper
Posted // November 16,2010 - Dan Savage’s Sept. 21 “It Gets Better” video was aimed at telling gay teens that life improves and adversity lessens during the shift into adulthood. It’s been viewed millions of times and has spurred thousands of others—celebrities, political figures and “regular people”—to produce their own videos.

It’s an amazing, powerful project. Now, we want to know which video our readers think did the best job of relaying that message—whether your judgment is based on emotional impact, style points, sincerity, positivity, humor, whatever. Post a link to your favorites in the comments below, send them to us via Twitter or on Facebook. Next Monday, Nov. 22, we’ll embed all submissions and start conducting instant runoff voting in two categories: Utah and national. Prizes will go to the Utah winner!

To get you feeling inspired, City Weekly’s Jesse Fruhwirth loves the video produced by Guy Branum and Jeffery Self, but the one produced by the Salt Lake City Main Library left him feeling a little cold—maybe it was because there were just so many people featured that no one message ever got the chance to shine.

Now, tell us your favorites.
