Animal lovers and patrons of the arts will come together to raise some much-needed funds when The Utah Animal Adoption Center holds a fund-raising event this week at the Patrick Moore Gallery. More than 50 artists have contributed their work for a silent auction, and the art and jewelry is available to take home that night. The cost of the event is $15, which includes complimentary beverages and hors d’oeuvres.

The show includes paintings, sculptures and jewelry. Much of the art depicts the theme of the evening—animals. “We do have some really outstanding artists participating,” said Patrick Hoagland, CEO and board liaison for Utah Animal Adoption Center.

Utah Animal Adoption Center rescues cats, dogs and horses. Many of the animals are taken from overcrowded shelters. The center is located at 1955 N. Redwood Road, Salt Lake City. All of the center’s animals can be found on PetFinder.com.

Art for Animals @ Patrick Moore Gallery, 2233 S. 700 East, 801-484-6641, Saturday, May 9, 6 to 9 p.m.
