Mardi Gras crashed into Piper Down with a whoop, holler, and some Swamp Boogying on Feb. 21. Representatives of Captain Morgan were on hand to assure enough people sported their silly complimentary pirate hats to make any Pastafarian proud. Local N’Oleans-spiced band Swamp Boogie—playing tracks off their latest album Food & Sex—got the boots stomping with fiddle and flamenco guitar as beads were passed out to worthy recipients. Salt Lake City did the Mardi Gras tradition proud and packed the traditionally Irish pub with some New World cheer and plenty of beer. Hope you enjoyed Fat Tuesday, but if you missed it, there are more Mardi Gras events around town this weekend.
