Susan Kruithof: The nearest is pretty near. Around 4500 South State—a mere 17 blocks away. But, I prefer the big wine store on 300 West, or Epic Brewery; not hard liquor, but some delicious booze is certain to be found at either location.
Lia Pretorius: It’s 1.8 miles to the liquor store and one mile in the opposite direction to the wine store. Some people have it worse, but I’d much prefer to choose a bottle of wine to go with my meal at the grocery store instead of wasting precious time and fossil fuel to go to yet another store.
Rachel Scott: Well, the ghetto liquor store (which I have a horrible, albeit fitting, nickname for) on 400 South and 200 West is only a few blocks from my house, but for good wine, I go to the wine store on 3rd and 3rd—not too much farther, but worth the drive for tasty, tasty wine!
Rachel Hanson: The closest liquor store that’s not a hellhole is about two miles away, but my favorite liquor stores are 400 miles away, in Durango, Colo. The (many) liquor stores are the only things I miss about that town.
Josh Loftin: Till it closes Oct. 1, I’ll go to the liquor store in the ballpark district, which has the best selection of cheap liquor without the cheap alcoholics.
Jesse Fruhwirth: With as often as I drive the nearly two miles to my nearest liquor store, they should just install one in my basement to help with the air pollution.
