No-Kill Initiative Calendar Sale

Utah FACES is a nonprofit dedicated to making sure Salt Lake County’s pets find a home away from the shelter. This year, the organization is creating a calendar to help fund their no-kill initiative, and now is the time to get in on the ground floor of this charitable venture by submitting $10 with your pet’s photo for the 2011 calendar. The first 700 submissions are guaranteed to be in the calendar, and one of them will earn the coveted cover spot. Yes, pets! No kill!

Community Open House and Paralympic Experience
Saturday, July 17
Park City’s National Ability Center has long offered youth with disabilities classes and recreational opportunities, including aquatics, archery and horseback riding. Come to a free open house to learn more about the world of competition and recreation for individuals with disabilities. The fair will include snow cones, hot dogs, ice cream, a 32-foot rock climbing wall and a ropes course. Additionally, people can meet Paralympic Gold medalist and Park City local Greg Shaw.

Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity Golf Tournament
Monday, July 19
Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has put more than 300,000 roofs over the heads of needy individuals and families. Now, the Salt Lake chapter is asking people to tee off for a good cause. The minimum donation is $350 per person, and all of it goes to help provide shelter to those in need, complete with no-profit, zero percent mortgages for recipients.
