"My name is David James (DJ) Bell-Fair and I am vying for the title of Miss City Weekly Pride, 2011. I am 33 years old and I live in Murray, Utah with my partner of 8 years, Dan Fair, and our little Chihuahua/whippet mix, Jax. I have been involved in my community the entire 12 years I have been out in one aspect or another, whether it be volunteering at local non-profits or performing at fundraising events. I have been performing the art of female illusion for 11 years and have enjoyed every aspect of my experience. I would enjoy further representing my community by reaching out to others in an effort to build bridges between the gaps we all face in our community as a whole. I have been, along with my partner, a recent face in the media (DJ Bell-Fair & Daniel Fair Hate Crime Victims) and would, for once, like to be remembered for something positive instead of the heaps of negative that has been associated with my picture in the paper over the last 3 years. I want the opportunity to do more and say more with the local “fame” already afforded me. I feel this is the perfect opportunity to share the pride, compassion, and love I feel for my fellow community members; to listen to their concerns and bring them to the attention of those who would not otherwise listen. Don’t get me wrong… I’m not some holier-than-thou-do-gooder. I just have a lot to share and feel this platform an appropriate opportunity. Oh! And I am incredibly talented. You’ll see."
