We’re neck deep into yet another season of a certain mega-popular talent show, with yet another (at press time) Utah-resident finalist capturing local interest. So perhaps it’s only natural that the phenomenon has inspired some satirical local homage.

Desert Star Theatre presents the tale of an innocent ingénue from Utah County who braves the evils of Hollywood—including a bad-boy fellow contestant—as she makes her way through the top-rated America’s Next Hollywood Pop Superstar competition. But when a rash of accidents starts turning the Top 10 into something more like Ten Little Indians, “elimination” starts to take on a more ominous meaning.

Can even our heroine’s clean living keep her safe? Will love prevail over bitchy judging? It’s yet another original musical dinner-theater experience with a comedic kick.
