Julia Louis-Dreyfus has never looked hotter than she does in the new Watching Ellie (NBC; debuts Tuesday, Feb. 26). Does that make her stab at a network sitcom better than quickly canceled “efforts” by fellow Seinfeld expatriates Jason Alexander (ABC’s gawdawful Bob Patterson) and Michael Richards (NBC’s gawdawful-er Michael Richards Show?) Well, yeah—c’mon, look at her!

Tube Stops*Thursday, Feb. 21: Glutton Bowl: The World’s Greatest Eating Competition (Fox, 7 p.m.) Forty contestants chow down for speed and quantity-including butter sticks and (ack!) Olive Garden entrees. Yeah, The Tick and The Family Guy just weren’t up to this quality ...

* Friday, Feb. 22: Strange World (Sci-Fi Channel, 9 p.m.) Area deaths are connected to a couple conducting neurological experiments on the biochemistry of thought and memory. Didn’t ABC cancel this years ago? Can’t remember ...

*Saturday, Feb. 23: Janet Jackson: In Concert From Hawaii (HBO, 7 p.m.) According to HBO, “this new concert will place more emphasis on choreography, rather than lavish sets and costumes.” And maybe even music?

* Sunday, Feb. 24: Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony (NBC, 6 p.m.) ’N Sync, Harry Connick Jr., Christina Aguilera, Bon Jovi, Kristi Yamaguchi, Scott Hamilton and SLOC prez Mitt Romney wish the saps, er, citizens of Salt Lake City good luck with “that recession thing.”

*Monday, Feb. 25: On the Record With Greta Van Susteren (Fox News Channel, 8 p.m.) Ms. Cat-Eyes hosts the dopest karaoke show on basic-cable news! Tonight, Bill O’Reilly faces off against Sean Hannity on “Nookie”!

*Tuesday, Feb. 26: Watching Ellie (NBC, 7:30 p.m.) Series Debut: Julia Louis-Dreyfus boldly goes where no ex-Seinfeld co-star has gone before—somewhere funny! In her underwear!

*Wednesday, Feb. 27: 2002 Grammy Awards (CBS, 7 p.m.) Jon Stewart hosts; U2, Dave Matthews, Alicia Keys and ’N Sync perform; America asks, “Another awards show?” And PJ Harvey and Ryan Adams vs. Aerosmith and Linkin Park for “Best Rock Album”? Nail-biter.

This is a society where, on one side, fad diets and unreasonable surgeries are embraced to control weight loss and, on the other side, we are presented with unrealistic, size-zero beauty. It is refreshing to have a show that presents the undeni- able fact that healthy diet and exercise are the keys.
