I noticed you recently had an interview with Terry Devine, a golf pro in Salt Lake City [“The Golfer’s Workout,” July 1, City Weekly].

I met Devine about nine years ago while I was visiting my sister, who was working in Salt Lake City at the time. I was about 15 years old, and was practicing at the driving range where Devine works. He came over, chatting to us—we were English, he’s English, blah blah blah.

He was so helpful to us: Helping with my golf swing, as well as telling us great things to go and see in Salt Lake City. What a fantastic man.

Now that I’m turning professional, I’m considering how it was Devine who inspired me to pursue the sport full-time.
