This was a refreshing article. I really appreciated the perspective you shared as an Englishman with no experience or exposure to firearms prior to the attacks in Paris. Reading about your thought process, moral dilemmas & reconciliations, and debates you had with others concerning whether or not you should own a firearm provided me insight in to the challenges some people have with firearm ownership that were completely foreign to me. I grew up in household with firearms and was taught at a very young age to respect them and how to handle them correctly. For me, handling a firearm appropriately is as ingrained into being as me as tying my shoes or brushing my teeth. Your experience helped me understand that there are many out there who's experience is much different than mine; and that there is a lot one needs to consider before jumping into the world of firearm ownership.
