Two things to remember: 1. President Monson primarily represents The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, as a WORLD - not Utah culture. 2. To think that all Utahans follow one specific "reality" is highly ignorant. This article adds the the degrading view of Utahan's being single-minded and narrowly viewed as illustrated in selecting one viewpoint OR the other. Some people like sushi AND green jello. It happens.
Yes, I forgot it was her choice to get molested over and over again, while these boys roam free (aside from the one that got her pregnant). Shame on those people who did not give her the proper attention when she made claims of molestation.
Incase you didn't read the whole article, the girl was bleeding to death in the other room. Not very many new moms, post-labor can properly give care to a newborn. That's what doctors and nurses are for. It's wrong for an outside to judge her mental capacity at the time of the incident.
After reading this entire article, my initial question still infuriates me. How could her parents be so callous in dismissing her complaints of these boys touching her. Do they realize all of this could have been prevented if they just LISTENED to her, rather than calling her crazy. Shame on them!
Re: “Two-Faced Utah”
doasIsay - Your comment is somewhat confusing as one thought runs into another, without identifying WHO you are talking about. I stopped reading halfway through. I think many people (whether they are LDS or not) that have ONLY lived in Utah, have a very distored perception on how "everyone" views Mormons or the Utah culture. Keep in mind, Utah is not the only state full of crooked two-faced people - I'm not sure what the big deal is...really.
