Are you in a band? Are you a singer-songwriter, rapper, DJ, busker or otherwise solo music-making human? City Weekly wants to hear about it. We're dedicated to covering Salt Lake City's talent-filled, eclectic music scene and the people that make it happen. If you would like to have your music project featured in City Weekly, here is some helpful information.

The spaces in the paper that feature content about local artists is the Have You Heard? column (focused on non-concert-related music-scene news), Music Live/Concerts & Clubs (short blurbs about concerts), local CD reviews and full-length features. For all music-related content, please contact Salt Lake City Weekly Music Editor Kolbie Stonehocker—contact information is listed below.

Local CD Reviews
If you'd like to have your album reviewed, please send us either a link to a stream (Soundcloud, ReverbNation or Bandcamp), or mail in or drop off a physical copy of your CD. Submitting your music will not guarantee its review. Local CD reviews run in the paper every other week (usually twice monthly). We will not review music that was released more than five months ago. Please do not submit MP3s as individual downloads.

Music Live/Concerts & Clubs
Music Live/Concerts & Clubs blurbs are short writeups that are designed to preview a specific concert. If you have an album-release show or special event coming up, please send us all the information a few weeks in advance as well as a promo-style photo of the band.

Have You Heard?
The Have You Heard? column is published monthly, and focuses on music-scene news. Examples of tips we're interested in covering are venues opening/closing, new open-mic nights, fundraisers for venues, high-profile bands calling it quits or changing dramatically in some way, etc. If you'd like to submit a tip to be written about in Have You Heard?, please e-mail us all the necessary information. The blurbs in Have You Heard? are not concert listings—if you would like to submit a concert to be included in our online and print calendars, you can submit the event for free by visiting our event page and clicking "Submit an Event," or by e-mailing us the information.

Music Features
Full-length music features about local artists are written at our discretion, but if you would like to be considered for a feature, please send us a press release describing who you are and what you're all about, a promo photo of the band, event information if necessary and a link to your website. Your chances of being featured in an article increase if you're performing regularly, have a strong online and real-life presence, and have recently released new music or are about to release new material. Advance notice is key for being considered for a feature. We are a weekly paper, which means our music-feature schedule is usually booked out about a month in advance. Please give us at least a couple weeks notice, especially if you have a specific event you're looking to have covered.

Please send all music, photos, press releases and information to:
