What’s new on the box(es) tonight:

Mom (CBS) Series Debut: Anna Faris and Allison Janney are recovering daughter/mother alcoholics; wackiness was supposed to ensue.--- Review + trailer in True TV.

Hostages (CBS) Series Debut: Toni Collette and Dylan McDermott star in the new political thriller that is neither political nor thrilling. Review + trailer in True TV.

The Blacklist (NBC) Series Debut: James Spader is a big-deal criminal who turns himself in and offers to help take down even bigger-deal criminals—but he’ll only talk to a new FBI recruit (Megan Boone). Why? Who cares? The Blacklist is the only Tivo-worthy show debuting tonight. Review + trailer in True TV.

Also new tonight:

How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls (CBS)

The Voice (NBC)

Dancing With the Stars, Castle (ABC)

Bones, Sleepy Hollow (Fox)

WWE Raw (USA)

Fashion Police: 2013 Emmys (E!)
