Wine Wednesday: Rose Respect at Pago

If you read my recent article on Rosé wines, you know what a Rosé enthusiast I am. Well, kudos to the folks at Pago --- restaurant for hosting what I believe might be the first-ever wine dinner in Utah dedicated solely to Rosé wines.

It's called the Rosé Advocacy Dinner, and although the original dinner on August 18 sold out quickly, Pago has added a second night: August 19 at 6 p.m., to take place on the Pago patio.

The menu and pairings are as follows:

Fleur de Maquis and basil-risotto lollipops + Domaine Maestracci E Prove Rosé 2012

Terrine of rabbit + Schlossgut Diel Rosé de Diel 2011

Seared watermelon & summer squash + Quivira Rosé 2012

Porchetta with hazelnut gremolata + Solar de Randez Rosado "Reserva" 1997

Sweet grits and Snowy Mountain Creamery "Strawberry Peak" + De Stefani "Metodo Zero" NV

The Rosé Advocacy Dinner is $40 per person for food, $35 for the wine pairings, plus a 20% gratuity.
