Glad You Asked: My Morning Jacket, Keller Williams and King Niko

Posted By on August 2, 2012, 1:00 PM

Dear GYA, I just bought that book 50 Shades of Grey, I don't know what it's about but I'm assuming it has something to do with the duality of mankind and the ambiguous standards of right and wrong. I think this would be a good thing to read at my Mormon book club tonight. ---Anything else happening this evening that's as stimulating as 50 Shades of Grey? Meredith Muellerbaul, Sugar House

Meredith, you hit the nail on the head. I think your Mormon book club would love to hear you read this out loud. Here's a few suggestions for this evening...

Over at Pioneer Park, the indie rock band My Morning Jacket will be performing at the Twilight Concert Series. %uFFFDThe Kentucky five hasn’t written nay new tunes since the 2011 release Circuital, but nonetheless for 5 bucks this will surely be great show. Local singer and%uFFFDsongwriter, Joshua James will open things up. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Multi-instrumentalist Keller Williams will be performing at The Depot. Williams is a one man band who plays everything from bass, guitar,%uFFFDpercussion--pretty much anything that makes noise and he blends it all together via loop pedals and a DAT machine. Mostly known for his bluegrass albums, Williams covers reggae, dance and rock just to name a few. The show starts at 9 p.m.

The 2011 City Weekly band of the year, King Niko will be on stage at The Complex this evening. The Salt Lake City indie-electro crew has played with Loverboy, Rooney, Say Anything, 30 Seconds To Mars, Switchfoot, Anberlin, Grouplove, Neon Trees and Panic! At The Disco. The show starts at 8 p.m.%uFFFD
